7 Amazing Jeep concepts at the 2022 Easter Jeep Safari
Every year, Jeep displays some spectacular off-roading adventure concepts at the Easter Jeep Safari event in Moab, Utah. The latest 56th iteration of this annual concept-truck roundup introduces us to the crazy Jeep Wrangler versions, an off-roader Grand Cherokee, and shortened Gladiators. Let's take a closer look at these fantastic concept vehicles.
Jeep Wrangler Magneto 2.0 Concept
Jeep unveils the fully electric Wrangler Magneto concept in the 2021 event for the first time, which has now received a 2.0 update. The latest Magento concept delivers a jaw-dropping power output of 625 hp, while its torque level peaks at 1,152 Nm. The latter is more than triple of last year's concept.
The credit for these whopping numbers goes to Magneto 2.0's powertrain, which comprises a custom-built axial flux electric motor operating up to 5,250 rpm and four lithium-ion batteries providing 70 kWh of capacity. A six-speed manual gearbox, extended wheelbase, customised lift kit, and exclusive 40-inch off-road tyres contribute to the performance.
This crazy powerful Wrangler EV can run from zero to 100 kmph in just 2 seconds, Jeep claims.
Jeep Birdcage Concept by JPP
If you are a fan of Jeep Performance Parts, the Jeep Birdcage concept is for you. But don't get confused with its name, as opposite to a cage, this Jeep vehicle gives you an extreme outside experience with no windshield and wipers on the front.
This plug-in hybrid Wrangler benefits from tons of accessories, making it more capable. The list includes a front winch, custom bumpers, skid plates, roll-cage mounted 14-inch LED light bars, 17-inch bead lock wheels, and tail-lamp protectors. A retuned suspension setup with FOX shocks and a 2-inch lift kit further add to the off-roading capabilities.
Jeep D-Coder Concept by JPP
The souped-up Gladiator, called D-Coder, is another concept from Jeep Performance Parts, which was on display at this year's Easter Jeep Safari. It is kitted with more than 30 JPP accessories, sprayed with Maraschino Red, giving a stark contrast to the all-black vehicle. In terms of hardware upgrades, the D-Coder concept benefits from a two-inch lift, FOX shocks, and 17x8.5-inch five-spoke wheels wrapped with 37-inch tyres.
Interestingly, all the parts added to this Gladiator concept carry a QR code which you can scan to check all the details and purchasing options.
Jeep Bob Concept
Another fantastic concept shown at the 2022 Easter Jeep Safari event was the Bob Concept. Based on the Gladiator Rubicon, the concept gets a shortened bed (12-inch less than the standard), custom bumpers, flared wheel arches, and a spare wheel mounted on the cargo bed. The lack of doors and B-pillars result in a highly open cabin.
Powering the Jeep Bob vehicle is the tried and tested 3.0-litre V6 diesel mill that benefitted from a new Mopar air intake. Also part of the kit is Dynatrac Prorock 60 axles, a 3.0-inch lift kit, upgraded springs and dampers, and 20-inch Beadlock wheels with 40-inch off-road tyres.
Jeep Rubicon 20th Anniversary Concept
Jeep added the Rubicon badge to the Wrangler for the first time in 2003, which means the rugged model is completing its 20 years soon. Celebrating this milestone is the Jeep Rubicon 20th Anniversary Concept equipped with a V8 engine, a dual-mode exhaust, a hood with a central scoop, a power-folding top, custom-built half doors, and 17-inch Mopar Beadlock wheels wrapped in 37-inch tyres. It also gets a 2-inch lift from JPP, a steel skid plate, and a Warn winch on the front bumper.
Jeep '41 Concept
This Jeep concept pays homage to the original Willys Jeep from the second world war. It underpins the Wrangler 4xe and is painted "olive D.R.A.B. '41 matte green. Further accentuating the off-roading quotient is powder-coated bumpers, 17-inch wheels, 35-inch mud terrain tyres, a two-inch lift kit, a tan soft top, and a Warn winch at the front. Also, part of the kit is a custom gearshift cap from the Jeep Graphic Studio and canvas-covered seats with digital camo inserts.
Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4xe Concept
For the ones who like something more civilised than the Wrangler-based vehicle, Jeep unveils the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe concept. The PHEV model is fitted with a 2.0-litre turbocharged, four-cylinder engine, two electric motors, and a 400-volt battery pack. It comes equipped with Mopar rock rails, Quadra-Lift air suspension, a customised roof rack mounted on the Rhino-Liner-protected roof, and 20-inch wheels shod with 33-inch BF Goodrich mud-terrain tyres.
This exclusive Grand Cherokee concept teams up the legendary Jeep 4x4 capability and electrified freedom to offer enthusiasts ultimate fuel efficiency and driving range.
So, these were the 7 Jeep concepts displayed at the recent Easter Jeep Safari. Which of these would you like to drive upon getting a chance? Tell us in the comments.
