2024 Audi Q8 e-tron: All you need to know about the luxe EV

It was last year in June that PHS Automotive Malaysia (PHSAM) launched its all-electric car, the Q8 e-tron. And ever since it has been competing with the likes of the BMW iX and Mercedes-Benz EQC. If you are looking for a luxurious car that is easy on the environment then the Q8 e-tron is a good choice.

The Audi Q8 e-tron is offered in two body styles, each with two variants. Here is a simplified overview of the Q8 e-tron lineup -

Recently PHS Automotive Malaysia offered a discount on the range-topping e-tron S line 55 quattro variant, courtesy of the Hari Raya Aidilfitri festive season. The model now costs RM 480,990 (on the road without insurance) inclusive of the AAP.

Wondering what’s AAP?

AAP stands for Audi Assurance Package provides a five-year, unlimited-mileage warranty and three years or 45,000 km of scheduled maintenance. A two-year coverage is available as a standard offering.

Audi Q8 e-tron dimensions

In terms of dimensions, the Audi Q8 e-tron is 4,915 mm in length, 1,937 mm in width, and 1,633 mm in height. Its car's wheelbase stretches to 2,928 mm and it has a boot capacity of 569 liters.

Audi Q8 e-tron powertrain

Audi Q8 e-tron advanced 50 quattro: The base Q8 e-tron advanced 50 quattro features two electric motors offering a total system output of 340 PS along with a peak torque of 664 Nm. This setup allows the EV to complete a century sprint in six seconds and attain a top speed of 200 kmph.

Powering the e-motors is a lithium-ion battery with a gross energy capacity of 95 kWh. It provides up to 491 km of range (WLTP standard).

Audi Q8 e-tron S line 55 quattro: Moving a step ahead the Audi Q8 e-tron advanced 50 quattro features an all-wheel drive electric powertrain making a maximum power output of 408 PS and a peak torque of 664 Nm. This results in a century sprint time of 5.6 seconds, the top speed however remains the same at 200 kmph.

The motor is powered by a higher gross energy capacity 114 kWh battery that offers 582 km of range.

Audi Q8 e-tron charging

Audi Q8 e-tron advanced 50 quattro: The EV is powered by an 11 kW AC charger (Type 2) that fully charges the battery in about 9.15 hours. Also available is DC fast charging at max supported input of 150 kW which brings the state of charge from 0 to 80% in just 28 minutes.

Audi Q8 e-tron S line 55 quattro: The higher-spec trim supports AC charging at a rate of 22 kW with 100% charge achieved in six hours. The DC fast charging rate is raised to 170 kW with 0tp 80% SoC achieved in 31 minutes.

Audi Q8 e-tron 50 quattro & Q8 Sportback e-tron advanced 50 quattro: Leather-wrapped double-spoke multifunction steering wheel with shift paddles, Upper part of dashboard in leatherette, Glossy black operating buttons with haptic feedback, and aluminum-look interior. The Sportback trim gets additions like Valcona leather, and Decorative inserts in dark Matte Brushed Aluminium

Tech features remain the same for both Audi Q8 e-tron 50 quattro models. The list includes Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus, Audi Connect Navigation & Infotainment, Audi smartphone interface, Audi phone box light, MMI Navigation Plus with MMI touch response, and On-board charger (AC) up to 11 kW.

Similarly, both e-tron 50 quattro models benefit from electrically adjustable front seats with memory function for the driver seat, 4-way lumbar support for the front seats, 4-zone climate control system, Auxiliary air conditioning, and Luggage compartment lid, electrically opening and closing

Audi Q8 e-tron S line 55 quattro & Q8 Sportback e-tron S line 55 quattro: S line interior, Valcona leather with embossed “S”, Scuff plates with aluminum inserts in front and rear, illuminated, with “S” logo in front, Sports contour 3-spoke flat-bottomed leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel with shift paddles.

Tech features remain the same for both Audi Q8 e-tron 55 quattro models. For instance, both get Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus, Audi Connect Navigation & Infotainment, Audi smartphone interface, Audi phone box Light, MMI Navigation Plus with MMI touch response, and On-board charger (AC) up to 22 kW.

As for comfort features, both models feature air ionizer and aromatization, power-assisted door closing, and electrically adjustable front sports seats with a memory function for the driver seat.
