Mercedes-AMG EQS53 is powered by a fully-variable AMG Performance 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system which consists of two e-motors, one on each axle. The total system output rests at 658 PS and 950 Nm of torque.
The EQE53 4Matic+, on the other hand, comes standard with two electric motors for all-wheel drive and generates a total system output of 626 PS and 950 Nm of torque.
In comparison, EQS53 4Matic+ is a tad bit more powerful than EQE53.
Performance
The Mercedes-AMG EQS53 accelerates from 0-100 kmph in just 3.8 seconds and attains a top speed of 220 kmph.

AMG Dynamic Plus package
Both the new EVs benefit from the AMG Dynamic Plus package which not only enhances the power output but also hikes the performance.
For instance, in the AMG EQS the outputs increase to 761 PS and 1,020 Nm. Also, the 0-100 km/h time comes down to 3.4 seconds, and the top speed bumps to 250 kmph. Note, here the EV needs to be in the Race mode and have a 75% battery level.

Electric Motor & Charging
The e-motors on the AMG EQS have a more robust thermal solution that helps with consistent performance. Powering the electric motors is a lithium-ion battery pack with a net energy capacity of 108.4 kWh.
As for charging, there is an AC charging (Type 2 connection) at up to 11 kW getting the battery from a 0-100% state of charge (SoC) in 11 hours and 15 minutes. Also available is DC fast charging (CCS2 connection) at up to 200 kW, it offers a 10 to 80% SoC in just 31 minutes.
Similar to the AMG EQS, the AMG IKE's electric motors get specific cooling elements like a so-called water lance in the shaft of the rotor along with special ribs on the stator. Also, part of the setup is a needle-shaped pin-fin structure on the inverter and a transmission oil heat exchanger.
The EV packs a 90.56-kWh lithium-ion battery which utilizes a maximum AC input (Type 2 connection) of 11 kW that gets the battery from a 10-100% in eight hours and 15 minutes. The DC fast charging (CCS2 connection) at a peak rate of 170 kW, takes the battery from 10-80% in just 32 minutes.
Range
When fully charged, the AMG EQS delivers up to 571 km of the WLTP-rated range. The EQE, on the other hand, offers up to 527 km of range following the WLTP standards.
Drive enhancing bits
The AMG EQS benefits from the Dynamic Select system along with rear-wheel steering, beefier brakes, and AMG Ride Control, which combines air suspension with adaptive, electronically controlled dampers.
