Honda CBR150R Design

Honda revamped the design of the CBR150R for the 2022 edition, and with this exhaustive change in the design, it now looks closer to the appearance of the larger CBR250R. While it means that it has lost a bit of sense of individuality, this change has made the CBR150R look much sharper than ever before.

At the front, the Honda CBR150R impresses with its extremely sharp bodywork, with the full fairing now having more cuts and creases to accentuate its sporty appeal. The headlamps have been redesigned too, with the sleeker-looking all-LED headlamps positioned slightly lower at the front. These headlamps are assisted with sleek and angular strips of daytime running LEDs just above them, thus giving an impression of eyebrows. The front fairing of the Honda CBR150R is inspired by the fairings of bigger CBRs like the CBR650R and the mighty Fireblade. There is a thin blacked layer between the front and side panels of the fairing, which come integrated with LED turn indicators.

Honda hasn’t tweaked the side profile much over the previous iteration of the motorcycle, which is a good thing as it still possesses the sharpness and aggressive bodywork a sports bike should have in the very first place. The large panels of the side fairing partially hide the gold-themed engine, while integrating the angular engine cowl. The large fuel tank with its wide knee recesses also makes the motorcycle look even sportier and bigger for its size.

The Honda CBR150R has a sharply raked tail section, which accommodates split seats, thus going with the sport bike theme effectively. The layered, inverted V-themed design for the LED tail lamps goes in sync with the sharp design of the motorcycle, while the short fender here comes integrated with LED turn indicators.

The instrument console of the Honda CBR150R also has a sharp design much like the rest of the motorcycle. The hexagonal theme for the full-LCD instrument console has a negative display and shows readouts for the speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, odometer, trip meters, gear indicator and clock. While the unit looks thoughtfully designed, the small fonts are difficult to read at times while on the go. The motorcycle also has clip-on handlebars and silver finished levers, which not only look good but are also functional in giving the motorcycle a sporty riding posture.

CBR150R Ride & Handling

The Honda CBR150R gets a premium hardware setup, which tries to justify the premium positioning of the motorcycle. Talking about the suspension combination, the Honda CBR150R gets upside-down hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and an aluminium swingarm with mono-shock at the rear. The motorcycle comes equipped with a 276mm disc at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear. Riding on 100/80-17 front and 130.70-17 rear tubeless tyres, the Honda CBR150R feels nice and agile to ride around corners.

Honda CBR150R Engine & Fuel Consumption

The Honda CBR150R continues to get the four-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 149.16cc engine from its predecessor. Known for its refinement and peak power delivery, the engine produces a maximum power output of 17.1 bhp, while the torque output is rated at 14.4 Nm. The engine is paired to a slick 6-speed gearbox.

CBR150R Braking & Safety

The Honda CBR150R gets decent essential safety features like a dual-channel ABS and key shutter mechanism for the ignition keyhole.

Honda CBR150R Verdict

The revised Honda CBR150R retains all the positives of its predecessor, including the refined and powerful engine and simple but high-quality suspension and brake setups. However, with the tweaks it has done to the front profile of the CBR150R, Honda has ensured that it looks fresher and more aggressive than ever before, thus attracting more newer riders to the motorcycle.
