GPX Demon GR200R

The GPX Demon GR200R might be a local model by Malaysian standards, but its bold and aggressive design makes it look like a world-class product. The overall look and stance of the GPX Demon GR200R is extremely sporty, which makes it an attention magnet even at a standstill.

At the front, the GPX Demon GR200R welcomes one with its busy-looking front fairing, which has a rakish and angular design from top to bottom, while also housing a small, curved and transparent windscreen in its upper middle part. This fairing also comes attached with LED turn indicators on either side of the lower corners, below which the motorcycle gets LED projectors neatly integrated between its lower part and the foremost corners of the side fairing panels. The lowermost tip of this front fairing has a small air dam placed between the headlamps, which makes it look inspired by the Yamaha YZF-R1.

The aggressive look and stance of the GPX Demon GR200R are carried forward to its side profile as well, where the motorcycle wears busy-looking side fairing panels with aggressive lines and creases throughout them. These side fairing panels partially hide the golden-themed engine and red-themed trellis frame of the motorcycle. The GPX Demon GR200R also comes with a bulky-looking fuel tank with smooth knee recesses and curvaceous side body panels below the split seats of the motorcycle.

The tail section of the GPX Demon GR200R has a long and raked design, which tapers upwards in a pointy fashion while accommodating the heightened pillion seat above it and a triangular LED tail lamp at the back. The long rear fender, which comes attached with LED turn indicators, and the dual-port, single-sided black exhaust pipe look muscular and add to the overall aggression of the design of the GPX Demon GR200R. The ride and pillion footrests and their holding brackets are also finished in a theme gold, the same as that of the engine.

Like a true fully-faired sports bike, the GPX Demon GR200R also comes with clip-on handlebars and a modern-looking full-LCD coloured instrument console behind them. This display unit packs in speedometer, tachometer, odometer, trip meters, fuel gauge, clock and gear indicator. The GPX Demon GR200R also comes with fairing-mounted rearview mirrors and soft-touch technology for the instrument console.

The GPX Demon GR200R feels like a proper sports bike to ride with its committed riding posture, thanks to the lower-set clip-on handlebars and rear-set footpegs. The motorcycle’s suspension combination, comprising upside-down telescopic forks at the front and linked mono-shock with a rectangular swing-arm at the rear, is also on a slightly sportier tune setup for enhanced sportiness in its handling and traction at higher speeds. The motorcycle rides on 100/80-17 front and 140/70-17 rear tubeless tyres wrapped over 17-inch alloy wheels while having petal disc brakes at both ends for halting duties.

The GPX Demon GR200R shares its four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 197cc engine with the Gentleman 200 café racer. However, the engine here gets a modern-day fuel injection system and minor tweaks to its internals, which result in different performance numbers. The GPX Demon GR200R claims a maximum power output of 19.2 PS and a peak torque output of 17.2 Nm while being paired with a 6-speed transmission.

While the GPX Demon GR200R misses out on sophisticated modern-day safety features like a dual-channel ABS, it gets nifty bits like an engine kill switch, petal disc brakes and engine immobiliser.

With a bold and sporty design from front to rear, the GPX Demon GR200R commands some serious attention despite its overall performance not entirely matching the sense of aggressiveness offered by its design. The motorcycle feels like a proper sports bike to ride, thanks to its committed riding posture and agile handling.
