Benelli Panarea 125 Design
As mentioned above, the Benelli Panarea 125 seeks inspiration from a world-class Italian scooter, and as a part of this design inspiration, this scooter also gets a chic-looking neo-retro design language from front to rear. The scooter has a compact and lean stance, which makes it friendly even for new riders and short-heightened people.
The front profile of the Benelli Panarea 125 has a hexagonal headlamp with rounded edges, which is a full-LED unit and comes with satin silver surrounds for a premium appeal. Apart from the handlebar-mounted headlamp, which has a pop-out look to it, the scooter also has smooth-looking surfaces for the front apron, which tapers down in an angular manner, without having any prominent curves or creases.
In the middle of the front apron, the Benelli Panarea 125 has a sleek and vertically-placed chrome strip, which ends with three curves at the bottom serving as vents with the horn placed behind it. The heightened front fender of the scooter also has tapered lower edges, while the brake levers on the handlebar have nice-looking silver touches to them.
The side profile of the Benelli Panarea 125 is where things start becoming more interesting to look at, with the side panels having a rounded look towards their front and a more tapered essence in their design while moving towards the back. The rear lower edges of the side panels of the Benelli Panarea 125 come integrated with slim and tiny LED turn indicators. While the yellow and red colour options come with a long black seat, the black and white colour options have the same seat in a shade of tan.
At the back, the Benelli Panarea 125 comes with a vertically placed LED tail lamp on the tapering surface of the rear, with a large single-piece alloy grab rail for the pillion riders at the back of the seat. While the Benelli Panarea 125 comes with a chrome shield over the broad-sized exhaust pipe, the scooter rides on diamond-cut 12-inch alloy wheels at both ends.
The compact-sized instrument console of the Benelli Panarea 125 also has a neo-retro essence in its layout, with it divided into two halves. While the upper half has a trapezoidal blue-backlit LCD screen with a fuel gauge, odometer, trip meters and clock in it, the lower half has an analogue speedometer. The entire instrument console, with warning lights placed on the sides of the LCD screen, gets a satin silver finish, making it look premium.
Panarea 125 Ride & Handling
With a length of 1820mm, a width of 690mm and a height of 1270mm, the Benelli Panarea 125 feels compact, giving the rider the confidence of riding a scooter with nimble handling. The scooter feels on its toes with a nicely-tuned suspension setup – telescopic forks at the front and a single-sided coil spring at the rear. Even the 12-inch wheels, wrapped with 100/90-R12 front and 110/90-R12 rear tubeless tyres, make the handling and ride quality nicely balanced. For braking, the scooter gets a 190mm disc at the front and a 130mm drum at the rear.
Benelli Panarea 125 Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Benelli Panarea 125 sources its power from a single-cylinder, air-cooled, two-valve, 124cc engine, transmitting the power produced to the rear wheel via a conventional belt-driven CVT. The engine can produce a maximum power output of 8.5 PS, while the peak torque output of the engine is rated at 9.2 Nm.
Panarea 125 Braking & Safety
While the scooter misses out on sophisticated safety features to keep the costs in check, Benelli has given this scooter a lockable under-seat storage space, which measures 12 litres. The scooter also comes with dual front storage pockets with a USB charger too.
Benelli Panarea 125 Verdict
While the neo-retro design language of the Benelli Panarea 125 is its talking point, the scooter can surprise you with the ease of how it rides, in addition to its comfortable low-speed ride quality.
