Land Rover Range Rover Sport

In this facelifted version, the Land Rover Range Rover Sport has an all-new interior cabin which speaks opulence and is very well equipped with futuristic essence in its layout.

The multi-functional steering wheel with a unique design for the center boss has been sourced from the flagship Range Rover, and so is the full TFT instrument console, which looks absolutely stunning. Stunning is the word for the centre console as well, which has a nice slanting design, and comes with a dual touchscreen setup – one for the infotainment system and the other lower one for the three-zone automatic climate control.

The entire cabin has a nice dual-tone black and beige leather upholstery, which feels nice and premium to the top core. The Land Rover Range Rover Sport has a 5+2 seating layout, with the third row having a cramped space and is best suitable for kids only.

The Land Rover Range Rover Sport is a flamboyant SUV which can be sensed by just the way it looks and has been designed on the outside. While it is not an extremely dramatic SUV in terms of design, the simple and classy lines do make it a timeless design that has a futuristic appeal as well.

At the front, the Land Rover Range Rover Sport looks sleek with the angular trapezoidal grille with honeycomb inserts, which is flanked with angular full LED headlamps which do have a noticeable kink on upper corners and come with LED daytime running lamps as well. The front bumper does come with geometrically large air inserts, which add some sportiness to the design.

The side profile of the Land Rover Range Rover Sport looks quite hefty, with a clean and angular profile consisting of sharp character lines on sideways, large and angular window panels, large alloy wheels and a dual-tone livery which adds some nice contrast to the roof.

At the rear, the Land Rover Range Rover Sport has a big visual difference over the Range Rover when it comes to the LED tail lamps, which have a different horizontal design. As always, the large rectangular and angular windshield and dual exhaust ports add some visual mass to the rear.

The sport falls back a step when it comes to fuel efficiency. Although a powerful engine requires more fuel but the efficiency could have been better, even keeping under consideration the size of this beast. The 5.0-litre V8 gets an efficiency of just 7.24 kmpl whereas the 3.0-litre V6 diesel and petrol engine offer a decent at best fuel economy measuring 13.33 kmpl and 8.84kmpl respectively.

The Land Rover Range Rover Sport has one of the best chassis for SUVs around the globe, with the vehicle getting electronic air suspension which can be operated via the touchscreen inside the cabin. The Range Rover Sport also gets a twin speed transfer box with an electronic centre differential and terrain response system, both of which combine to give a great off-road driving experience.

For the Malaysian market, the Land Rover Range Rover Sport is a range of petrol and diesel engines. Starting off with the petrol powertrains, the Range Rover Sport has four options – 2.0-litre four-cylinder (300 PS/400 Nm), a 3.0-litre V6 supercharged (380 PS/460 Nm) and a 5.0-litre supercharged petrol engine in two states of tune (525 PS/625 Nm and 575 PS/700 Nm). The diesel engine lineup too has four options on offer – 2.0-litre four-cylinder (240 PS/500 Nm), a 3.0-litre V6 in two states of tune (258 PS/600 Nm and 306 PS/700 Nm) and 4.4-litre V8 (339 PS/740 Nm).

The Land Rover Range Rover Sport has been equipped with smart safety features like all-terrain progress control, dynamic stability control, low traction launch, electronic traction control, roll stability control, cornering brake control, hill descent control, electric parking brake, ABS with EBD and brake assist, gradient acceleration control, gradient release control, lane departure warning, front and rear parking sensors with multi-angle parking camera and seven airbags.

The Land Rover Range Rover Sport is one luxurious vehicle which has sent benchmarks in all aspects – whether be its styling and road presence, features on board and ride and handling balance. In this current generation version too, the Range Rover Sport continues to be one of the most desirable SUVs.
