If you seek a pure driving experience, you may find the Honda Civic Type R’s augmented engine sound an unnecessary addition. It detracts the driver from the raw feedback that defines the high-performance driving essence, especially in a turbocharged sports car. This disconnect becomes even more noticeable when you try to push the car to its limits during spirited driving sessions on winding roads where engine sound should reflect the mechanical performance of the vehicle. It also doesn’t come with an individual custom drive mode so you may not have complete control over the vehicle.
