Zontes E125 maxi-scooter debuts in Europe; will it come to Malaysia?

KUALA LUMPUR: The global maxi-scooter segment has recently welcomed a new entrant in the form of the all-new Zontes E125. It is an entry-level scooter targeting new riders looking for a reliable urban transport solution.

The Zontes E125 shares the platform with its bigger sibling, the E350. It features an ergonomic design that strikes a balance between comfort and a touch of sporty appeal. The scooter is equipped with a bright six-focus LED headlight and a daytime running light that promises better visibility on the road. 

The new Zontes E125 maxi-scooter houses a colourful TFT console providing all the essential driving-related information to the rider. It also supports the Screen Mirroring feature and shows the tyre pressure monitoring indicator and temperature for safety and comfort. 

Further, adding to the convenience is an adjustable windscreen and handguards, which provide safety not only from wind but from minor bumps as well. 

Powering the Zontes E125 is a 125-cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that is good for producing a maximum power of 14.6 hp. It incorporates Bosch's MSE 8.0 Electronic Fuel Injection system, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable riding experience. 

As for suspension, it is loaded with a basic telescopic fork at the front and a dual shock system at the rear with preload adjustments. The braking duties are handled by disc brakes on both ends, which are complemented by a dual-channel ABS. 

These specifications make the Zontes E125 an excellent choice for beginners in the scooter world. It is priced at EUR 3,887 (approx RM 19k) in the European market.

Will the Zontes E125 come to Malaysia?

While there has been no official confirmation, the arrival of the Zontes E125 in the local market seems likely, given the Chinese brand's established presence and the popularity of maxi-scooters in Malaysia.
