Yamaha XMax gets two new colour options in Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR: Hong Leong Yamaha Malaysia has given the XMax 250 a colour upgrade for 2024. This agile and automatic scooter benefits from two new colour options - Icon Black and Ruby Red. Earlier, the XMax was available in Icon Blue and Max Silver shades.

The Yamaha XMax boasts an enhanced MAX DNA, advanced connectivity features, a 249.8-cc liquid-cooled engine, LED lighting, and dual-channel ABS. It comes in two colours - Icon Black and Ruby Red.With the colour upgrade, the Yamaha XMax also witnessed a slight change in pricing. It is now offered at RM 24,498 (excluding insurance, registration, and road tax), which means customers need to shell out an additional amount of RM 500 compared to the previous year's model.
Painted with fresh hues, the scooter features the same X-shaped LED headlight, high-mount LED front flashers, dynamic bodywork, and a slim seat. The LED tail light also forms an X pattern when the brake lights are lit, which aligns with the front styling. Weighing at just 181 kg, the scooter is designed for both agility and durability.
The 2024 Yamaha XMax continues to get energy from the tried and tested 249.8-cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine tuned to generate a maximum power of 22.8 PS at 7,000 rpm and a peak torque of 24.3 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The power is sent to the rear wheel via a CVT gearbox and belt drive system.
As for all the riding-related information, it features a 4.2-inch TFT-LCD screen mated to Yamaha Y-Connect and Garmin StreetCross Connectivity. With the help of the latter, riders can easily connect their smartphones to the bike and enjoy navigation with just a tap of the finger.
The Yamaha XMax rolls on 15-inch front and 14-inch rear wheels. The suspension setup comprises non-adjustable telescopic front forks and twin shock rear absorbers. Handling the braking duties are single hydraulic discs at both ends, which are complemented by a two-channel anti-lock braking system.
The 2024 Yamaha XMax 250 is now available at all authorised Yamaha dealerships across the nation. Each purchase is accompanied by a two-year or 20,000 km warranty against manufacturing defects and a free disc lock worth RM 100.
