Yamaha updates NMax in Indonesia, to arrive in 2020

KUALA LUMPUR: Yamaha has given a serious makeover to the NMax scooter, which will be launched officially in 2020. At first glance, the newer version of the scooter looks unchanged, but a closer look reveals some upgrades.

Design-wise, the 2020 Yamaha NMax gets a revised front fascia, where the headlights are sleeker, and the front blinkers are repositioned. The windscreen gets an updated shape. There are some modifications done on the body panels and front panels that help to provide a refreshed look. The footboard design of the rider is quite good and offers two different positions. It helps to deliver a comfortable ride.

2020 NMax comes with four colour options as standard - Matte Black, Matte Red, Matte Blue and Glossy White. The ABS version comes with three different colour options including Matte Black, Glossy White and Matte Blue.

There is a new LCD screen, where the ride-related information is displayed. The blinker indicators are positioned on either side of the LCD screen. It gets the Yamaha Motorcycle Connect system, via which the rider can access the Bluetooth connectivity.

A new, split-style LED taillights setup has been provided at the back of the 2020 Nmax 155. There is a heatshield on the exhaust canister. The 2020 Yamaha Nmax comes with an array of features like Smart Motor Generator, a traction control system, Start-Stop function, keyless ignition, an electric power socket and hazard light.

Yamaha has not made any changes to the engine. 2020 NMax is equipped with a single-cylinder SOHC VVA unit, which is capable of churning out a maximum power of 14.9 hp at 8,000 rpm and the peak torque is 14.4Nm at 6,000 rpm. The bike comes with a fuel tank of 6.6-litre.

Suspension-wise, upcoming Yamaha NMax is a telescopic fork unit at the front, while at the rear, there are twin-sided, gas-charged springs.
