Yamaha Malaysia updates Ego Avantiz for 2021

KUALA LUMPUR: Good news for all the prospective scooter buyers, as Yamaha Malaysia has upgraded its popular scooter the Ego Avantiz for the model year 2021. And the biggest highlight here is the scooter's price reduction from RM 5,536 to RM 4,873. This price excludes registration, road tax, and insurance.

The reason for the RM 663 reduced price tag? Well, all thanks to the zero percent excise duty tariff that remains effective till December 2021. It is to be noted that this price from Hong Leong Yamaha Motor is subject to change and recommended retail, and so should be only used as a guide.

Colour options? The 2021 Yamaha Ego Avantiz is offered in three new hues - Matte Green, Blue, and Red, all of which are available at the company's nationwide authorised dealerships.

Power source? The upgraded Ego Avantiz scooter continues to be powered by the tried and tested 125 cc, SOHC, air-cooled engine fed by EFI that continues to be on duty from its launch time. It makes a maximum power of 9.3 hp at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 9.6 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The generated power is sent to the rear wheels via an automatic transmission driving a V-delt and a wet multi-plate clutch.

Furthermore, the scooter comes with a parking lock system that activates a hand brake that prevents unintended acceleration.

Braking and suspension? The braking duties here are handled by a single hydraulic disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the back. As for the latter, the Ego Avantiz features a front telescopic fork and rear monoshock single absorber.

With a reduced price tag, reliable powertrain, and handful of features, the 2021 Yamaha Ego Avantiz seems to be a great option.
