Vespa 75th Anniversary models are now on sale in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Back in March, Piaggio unveiled the three special edition models while celebrating the 75th anniversary of its legendary Vespa scooter. Out of three, two models - 2021 Vespa Primavera 75th Anniversary and the 2021 Vespa GTS 75th Anniversary are now available in Malaysia. Didi Resources Sdn Bhd, the company’s official distributor, is selling the Primavera 150 special edition at RM 23,500, and the GTS 300 at RM 38,900.

To set the new models apart from the rest, the automaker decked them up in an exclusive metallic yellow livery called ‘Giallo 75th’, which evokes the heritage, innovative spirit, and fashion-loving style of the brand. On the side panels and front mudguard, we can see the number ‘75’ in a slightly stronger shade. Also, there is a chrome-plated rear luggage rack with a round bag and a plate behind the leg shield to identify the series, just like other Vespa special editions.

Included in the cosmetic touches are wheel rims painted in grey, a special grey Grigio Fumo nubuck saddle with piping, and chrome-plated detailings on the classic “tie”, instrument cluster surround, muffler cover as well as rear-view mirrors. Besides these, the Vespa GTS 75th Anniversary also benefits from the foldaway passenger footpegs.

As for technology, the new Vespa 75th anniversary models are equipped with a 4.3-inch TFT colour display with a Vespa MIA smartphone connectivity system. 

On the purchase of these retro-styled scooters, the customers will also get a Welcome Kit, which includes a vintage steel Vespa plate, a personal owner’s book, and eight collector postcards that carry pictures from the eight decades of the Vespa.

As we mark the 75th anniversary of Vespa with the two special models which are Vespa Primavera 150cc and Vespa GTS 300cc, Vespa has accompanied Malaysian lives and embodied feelings and the desire for freedom,” said Mr. Rewi Hamid Bugo, Chairman Didi Resources Sdn Bhd.
