KUALA LUMPUR: The UK motorcycle market is experiencing tough times sales-wise. As for the third consecutive month sales are falling, however the figures are higher than the ones recorded in last year.

Figuratively speaking, during the first six months of 2022, a total of 63,963 motorcycles were sold in the UK. In contrast, during the same period last year, only 58,105 units were sold. Overall, despite the downward trend, things are looking up for the UK motorcycle arena.

Now, the big question is, who is the biggest seller in the UK motorcycle market?

Taking the top positions as always is Honda with 2,200 units sold in June. Occupying the second position was not Yamaha but Triumph. Surprising, huh?

Helping Triumph achieve such great heights in the UK is its middle-weight motorcycle, the Trident 660 with 225 units sold in June.

What factors helped Triumph Trident 660 to become popular amongst buyers?

The motorcycle’s affordable price tag is definitely a major selling point not just among beginners but seasoned riders. Next up, it is a powerful 660 cc three-cylinder DOHC liquid-cooled engine that generates a max power of 80 hp at 10,250 rpm and 64 Nm of torque at 6,250 rpm.
This setup offers a punchy power delivery throughout its rev range along with a unique triple-cylinder soundtrack.

The drive is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission with an assist/slipper clutch.

Other key features include - a ride-by-wire throttle, switchable traction control, and selectable driving modes. All of which work towards offering greater riding efficiency across the board.
