Ducati sold almost 60k motorcycles globally in 2021

KUALA LUMPUR: The motorcycle giant, Ducati sold 59,447 bikes worldwide in 2021, thus marking a strong sales year for the company.

Compared to previous years, 2020 and 2019, the company saw a hike of 25 percent (48,042 units) and 12 percent (53,183 units), respectively.

Which country saw the maximum sales of Ducati motorcycles?

The Italian motorcycle manufacturer sold 9,007 units in the United States alone, thus making the country the highest contributor to its 2021 sales figure. Following America, were Italy, Germany, and China; wherein Ducati sold 8,707, 6,107, and 4,901 units, respectively.

Compared to the previous year, Ducati saw a 21 percent growth in the Chinese market. Thus, making it a potential future market for the brand.

On this amazing sales success of 2021 company’s CEO, Claudio Domenicali said, “2021 was a magical year for Ducati. We delivered over 59,000 motorcycles, a number never achieved before in 95 years of the company’s history. We also won the title of MotoGP Constructors’ World Champion for the second consecutive year, and we started the electric era of our company with the V21L prototype, which foresees the bike that will race in the MotoE championship from 2023.”

He further added, “The pandemic, which is still underway, in addition to generating so much suffering, has also made activities more complex, forcing us to conduct a continuous internal reorganization.”

Which Ducati model registered maximum sales in 2021?

The all-new Ducati Multistrada V4 became the most popular motorcycle from Ducati in 2021 with over 9,957 units delivered worldwide.

Next in line is Ducati Scrambler 800 with 9,059 units and the new Monster with 8,734 units sold.

As for 2022, Ducati has high sales expectations with most of its hope tied to the new DesertX.

Domenicali on the subject said, “With the DesertX we will have from this year on an extremely attractive proposal for adventure fans, and other ambitious projects are currently in development.
