Ducati e-Scrambler launched in Italy: Specs, price, & other details

KUALA LUMPUR: Owning a Ducati is a dream of many, but a few pockets are cable enough to bear its weight. Well, now there is a relatively cheaper option available with a slight twist. Ducati, along with Thok Ebikes, has revived the Scrambler nameplate once again. However, this time it has been introduced as an electric bicycle called the e-Scrambler.

The Ducati e-Scrambler is an urban-ready electric bicycle built on an aluminium frame and is equipped with a 250W Shimano Steps E700 motor making 60 Nm of torque. The power is sent to a 504Wh Shimano battery that helps the bike cover long distances. Transmission duty is handled by a Sram NX 11 (11-42) speed gearbox.

Here are a few details about Ducati’s latest electric bike -

• The e-Scrambler rides on 27.5-inch Pirelli Cycl-e GT tyres that are wrapped in 27.5-inch Thoj e-plus wheels
• In its standard equipment list are included a functional stand, headlamp, luggage racks, tail and signal lights, mudguards, and tail & signal lights
• Sram Guide T-4 calliper units do braking duties

• Taking care of riders safety and comfort is the telescopic seat
• Since the e-Scrambler is a collaboration between Ducati and Thok, it gets products from both like the saddle and grips are from the former, it gets handlebar from the later
• It weighs 22.5 kg which is not at all shabby for a bicycle with electric motor and battery

In Italy, the e-Scrambler is available in black/yellow color options and costs €3,699, or around RM 18,409. So, what do you think about Ducati’s latest product?
