Ducati DesertX Rally and Monster 30° Anniversario edition now in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Big news for Ducati fans! Ducati has expanded its lineup in Malaysia with the introduction of two new exciting models - DesertX Rally and the Monster 30° Anniversario. The DesertX Rally is here to quench the thirst of off-road enthusiasts, while the Monster 30° Anniversario offers an amazing blend of elegance and sports attitude. Let’s get to know them in detail, one by one.

Ducati DesertX Rally

Dubbed as the Race Wilder, the DesertX Rally is a hardcore variant of the DesertX, designed for rugged terrains and rally races. The key highlights include - 

• The bike sports lighter, more technical wheels with carbon steel spokes and lightened billet aluminium hubs. 
• The upgraded suspension adds 20 mm more travel, with a total of 250 mm at the front and 240 mm at the rear. Both the 48 mm front fork and 46 mm rear shock are made by KYB.

• Along with lighter wheels, the DesertX Rally also comes fitted with other lighter components such as a carbon sump guard, and billet aluminium rear brake and gear level.
• To tackle off-road terrains, the bike is equipped with a high mudguard, which prevents any build-up of mud.
• The plastic elements of the bike are unpainted and mass-coloured to limit the visibility of any scratches.
• It also features a dedicated rally seat with a special texture upholstery.

On the mechanical front lies the same 11 937-cc Testastretta engine found on the standard DesertX. The said mill churns out a maximum power of 110 hp at 9,250 rpm and a peak torque of 92 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The power is sent to the wheels through a 6-speed transmission mated to a hydraulically actuated wet-multi-plate clutch and final chain drive.

The four power modes at the disposal are - Full, High, Medium, and Low alongside six riding modes - Sport, Touring, Urban Wet, Enduro, and Rally.

The 2024 Ducati DesertX Rally is priced at RM 160,900 (excluding road tax, insurance and registration).

Ducati Monster 30° Anniversario

The Ducati Monster 30° Anniversario celebrates 30 years of pure Monster legacy. It is a limited-edition model whose production is limited to 500 units worldwide. The key highlights are as follows -

• The bike dons a special Tricolour 30th Anniversary livery paying homage to the history and sportiness of the iconic Monster family.
• It features exclusive forged aluminium wheels that are finished in a striking gold colour. 
• The Öhlins suspension components, known for their superior quality and performance, are also highlighted in gold.
• The special-edition Monster 30° Anniversario also comes fitted with a Termignoni silencer and carbon-fibre mudguards adding a touch of performance and refinement. 

• Further confirming the unique identity of the bike is a 30° graphic on the fuel tank, an embroidered 30-year logo on the seat, and the dedicated animation on the console.
• The bike also comes with a certificate of authenticity and an exclusive plaque bearing the serial number (XXX out of 500).

The Ducati Monster 30° Anniversario edition is powered by a 937-cc Testastretta 11-degree twin engine that is tuned to deliver 111 hp at 9,250 rpm and a peak torque of 93 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The electronic pack comprises - 3 riding modes (Sport, Road, and Wet), ABS Cornering, Ducati Wheelie Control,  Launch Control, Ducati Traction Control, and a 4.3-inch colour TFT dashboard.

The limited-edition Ducati Monster 30° Anniversario is priced at RM 115,900 (excluding road tax, insurance, and registration) in Malaysia.
