The Chinese-spec 2022 Yamaha NMax is priced at 27,800 Yuan.Traction Control System
The 2022 Yamaha NMax 155 is fitted with a traction control system for better control and handling. Available with the NMax ABS trim, the system comes with sensors that detect loss of traction in the rear tyre while driving on slippery areas or hitting the accelerator at the time of cornering. It helps reduce the rear wheel slip and eventually the crash risk. The same system can also be found on the latest R15 V4.
Better rear suspension
In place of the conventional dual springs at the back, the new NMax gets gas-charged dual shock absorbers, which are now manually adjustable for preload as well. However, the front end continues to feature the same telescopic forks.
Identical mechanical setup
As no changes have been made to the mechanical setup, the maxi-scooter is powered by the same 155cc liquid-cooled engine delivering 15.36 PS of maximum power and 13.7 Nm of peak torque. The motor comes paired with a V-belt automatic gearbox.
Same feature kit
The continuing feature kit of the Chinese-spec NMax comprises all-LED lighting, a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, a USB charging port, dual-channel ABS, a smart key system, a hazard lamp, and 23.3-litre under seat storage.
Same price
Surprisingly, Yamaha did not increase the NMax price tag for the Chinese market, despite adding a better suspension and traction control system. It still costs 27,800 Yuan, which is approximately equal to RM 18,267.
