CFMoto launches 800MT Explore Edition in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: The Chinese motorcycle brand CFMoto has expanded its range in Malaysia with the launch of the all-new 800MT Explore Edition. The latest model sits above the Sport and Touring models of the bike and comes loaded with several interesting features and refinements making it perfect for long-distance travel.

Before diving into the specifications, let’s have a look at pricing. The 2024 CFMoto 800MT Explore Edition is priced at RM 57,800 (excluding insurance and road tax) in Malaysia. Included in the price is a two-year unlimited mileage warranty against manufacturing defects.

The CFMoto 800MT Explore Edition features the latest electronic riding technologies, such as a blind spot monitoring system positioned at the back of the motorcycle. Powered by radar sensors, it enhances safety during lane changes, particularly at night and in low-visibility conditions. The electronic package also comprises an updated traction control and cruise control system.

All necessary information provided by these advanced systems is displayed on an 8-inch TFT touchscreen unit, which supports mobile phone connectivity and OTA updates via the CFMoto app.

In terms of oily bits, the new CFMoto 800MT Explore Edition incorporates a 799-cc parallel-twin DOHC liquid-cooled Euro 5 compliant engine, which is good for making 89.8 hp of maximum power at 9,250 rpm and 75 Nm of peak torque at 8,000 rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel through a six-speed gearbox, paired with a slipper clutch, chain drive, and an up-and-down quick-shifter.

The bike comes with four riding modes - Sport, Rain, Off-Road, and All-Terrain, allowing customers to ride as per their preferences and road conditions.

The CFMoto 800MT Explore Edition underpins a steel chassis and aluminium swingarm and offers a ride height of 825 mm. It features an aggressive front section, full LED lighting and minimal bodywork, and catchy gold-coloured gold rims. Highlighting its ‘your-ready’ status is a wide and roomy saddle, compact skid plate, crash bar protection, handguards, and aluminium hard cases. There are a total of three cases - a 35-litre box on the left, a 28-litre box on the right, and a 36-litre box on top.

The bike runs on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels shod with Michelin tyres. Handling the suspension duties are KYB upside-down forks at the front and KYB monoshock at the rear. The front braking system consists of 320 mm discs paired with twin J Juan radial-mount calipers, while the rear is equipped with a 260 mm disc and a single J Juan calliper. Additionally, the vehicle comes with a dual-channel ABS as a standard fitment,
