BMW Motorrad Malaysia launches all-new C 400 X and C 400 GT scooters

KUALA LUMPUR: BMW has extended its scooter lineup in Malaysia with the introduction of 2019 Motorrad C 400 X and C 400 GT. Both the two-wheelers are assembled in BMW Motorrad’s China plant and are specially designed for the urban mobility segment. The coasters are being retailed with a price tag of RM 44,500 and RM 48,500, respectively.

The pair gets a highly aggressive outfit with the presence of countless body cuts. Moreover, C 400 X looks like a rugged machine, while C 400 GT takes designing cues from the RT-series bikes. Inside the cockpit, both the scooters get a full-color TFT-LCD display as the instrument cluster, keyless ride, and BMW Motorrad Connectivity, which offers to connect the rider’s smartphone with the system.

BMW C 400 (both X and GT) are powered by a 350 cc four-valve liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that outputs a maximum power of 34 hp at 7,500 rpm along with a peak torque of 35 Nm at 6,000 rpm. Power is sent to the wheel via a CVT gearbox. BMW claims that C 400 X can attain a top speed of 139 kmph, while the GT variant has the highest limit of 136 kmph.

Braking requirements are taken care of by the layout composed of double-discs for the front and a single disc at the rear. The braking system also receives the assistance of the Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) for efficient stopping at high speeds.

Furthermore, the coasters ride on 15-inch and 14-inch wheels for the front and back, respectively, and the suspension job is done by telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers equipped for the rear.

C 400 X is available in three color options, namely Alpine White, Zenith Blue Metallic and Black Storm Metallic, whereas C 400 GT is offered in Moonwalk Grey Metallic, Blackstorm Metallic and Alpine White.
