BMW Malaysia big launch, new R 1250 GS with seven variants

KUALA LUMPUR: BMW Motorrad Malaysia has taken the high road with several launches back-to-back. Starting up with the latest 2021 BMW R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure range. The highlight being seven variants that are up for grabs, including the ‘40 Year of GS’ special edition, available for both GS and GS Adventure.

So, what is new with the latest 2021 BMW GS range?

Compared to the previous-gen model, the new benefits from several revisions, including cosmetic changes. The list includes - X-shaped light icons on the new headlights with LED DRLs, and cruising light. Also, the new adaptive headlights come with a swivel function that allows the low beam to adjust as per the road curves and offers an inclined position for better illumination.

Furthermore, the new GS range gets the following exterior bits as standard - a new chrome exhaust system, multifunction rear indicators, cross-spoke wheels. The BMW R 1250 GS Adventure benefits from a few extras like auxiliary headlights and suitcase holders.

What powers the new 2021 BMW GS range?

All the seven trims of the new R 1250 GS and GS Adventure source power from a 1,254cc twin-cylinder boxer mill that pumps out a maximum power of 136 hp at 7,750 rpm along with a peak torque of 143 Nm. The bike's exhilarating performance is supported by features like BME Gear Shift Assistant Pro, BMW ShiftCam technology, an anti-hopping clutch, and Dynamic Traction Control.

Speaking of performance, the new GS range is able to deliver more thanks to the new ‘Pro’ riding modes available over and above the standard riding modes. So, the modes options include - Dynamic, Dynamic Pro, Enduro, and Enduro Pro.

What else?

Well, adding to the convenience of the rider the GS range comes with several impressive inclusions like - Dynamic Engine Brake Control, BMW Motorrad Dynamic ESA, Electronic cruise control with ‘Eco’ mode, BMW Motorrad Connected app+, BMW Integral ABS, and 6.5-inch full-colour TFT display, and more.

Exterior colour options -

The latest BMW GS range is offered in two striking colour tones - Triple Black Style and Rallye Style. The special edition ‘40 Year of GS’, however, features the iconic BMW R 100 GS inspired, Blackstorm Metallic and Yellow colour scheme.

Price

The new 2021 BMW R 1250 GS models price range starts from RM 119,500 and goes all the way to RM 135,500.
