Aprilia launches 2021 GPR250R in China
KUALA LUMPUR: The all-new 2021 Aprilia GPR250R was showcased at the Xi’an Auto Expo in China, and now the Noale based firm is making a comeback with it in the quarter-litre bike segment. Though the details about the model are scanty at the moment, reports suggest that the GPR250R will be an ASEAN market offering. Once launched it would go against the likes of the Kawasaki ZX-25R, Yamaha YZF-R25, and Honda CBR250RR.
Priced at 26,800 RMB (approximately RM 17,274), the Aprilia GPR250R is powered by a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled mill. The company is numb on the power figures, however, a speculated figure of 26 hp is claimed by various sources. Thus placing the latest Aprilia perfectly in the class it belongs to. Also, it appears to be closely based on the Europe-spec Aprilia RS 125 with what seems to be a die-cast aluminium swingarm and frame.
As for its design language, the new Aprilia GPR250R tallies the styling of the brand’s other sports bikes like the RSV. However, the ongoing vogue for wings on the fairing is omitted.
From the images available online, the 2021 Aprilia GPR250 sports bike seems to benefit from LED lighting and a TFT-LCD screen. Other inclusions being - upside-down forks and single hydraulic disc brakes at front and rear with ABS, and preload-adjustable mono-shock.
