All-new Honda Gold Wing GL1800 launched in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Seems like, before the beginning of the new year, Honda Motorcycle Malaysia has a few new models in its kit that the brand wants to launch in 2021 itself. So, after the arrival of the new Rebel 500, Honda has now introduced the new Gold Wing GL 1800. 

The all-new 2022 Honda Gold Wing 1800 model is priced slightly higher than the previous model. While the new model retails for RM 210,888 (excluding road tax, insurance, and registration), the model before it was priced at RM 208,800.

Let us now see that the 2022 Honda Gold Wing GL 1800 has on offer -

Colour options: In Malaysia, Honda is offering the new Gold Wing GL 1800 in only one colour option, i.e., Pearl Glare White

Engine: The new Gold Wing GL 1800 is powered by the company’s trademark flat-six mill making a maximum power of 124.7 hp at 5,500 rpm along with a peak torque of 170 Nm at 4,500 rpm.

Transmission: The power is sent to the wheels via Honda’s seven-speed DCT gearbox with shaft final drive that works in conjunction with Honda Selectable Torque Control that takes care of shift speed, clutch feel, and tailors up/downshift rpm range as per the selected riding mode.

Ride modes: The new Gold Wing is available in a choice of four riding modes including, Rain, Tour, Econ, and Sport.

Riding aids: Honda has equipped the new Gold Wing GL 1800 with Hill Start Assist, Idling Stop, and reverse gear with a ‘creep’ forward and back function.

Electronic gears: The motorcycle now features several smart features making it suitable for today’s audience. Included in the list is - smart key operation, 7-inch TFT LCD screen, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto support, and Bluetooth connectivity.
