New Ducati Panigale V4 range will be offered starting December 2021.Let’s now discuss the new 2022 Panigale V4 superbike in detail, starting with the powertrain. Powering the new Panigale is the same old 1,103 cc, Euro 5 compliant Desmosedici Stradale mill that now comes with a 38 mm exhaust silencer and a smaller displacement pump. These changes yield an additional 1.5 hp of power over the outgoing 215.5 hp at 13,000 rpm and 123.6 Nm at 9,500 rpm. The mill is paired to a 6-speed gearbox with Ducati Quick Shift Evo 2 and a slipper clutch.
2022 Panigale engine mapping includes four power modes - Low, Full, High, and Medium. While the Full and Low modes are new, the High and Medium modes have been revised (with a new ride-by-wire mapping).
As for the ergonomics revisions they make the Panigale V4 easier to hang on to and so easier for the rider to enhance the bike’s on-circuit performance. The shape of the fuel tank is revised allowing riders of all sizes to anchor on during braking along with enabling better full-tank position to further aid airflow.
Also, seats are flatter than before making it easier for the rider to move around and at the same time reduce the sliding tendency while braking. The contact area for the arms is improved for when riders hang off mid-corner.
Improvements on the aerodynamics front include - a new double-profile wing design that is thinner and compact than before while producing the same 37 kg of vertical load downforce at 300 kmph. The redesigned vents of the lower fairing enhance cooling.
