All-new 2022 Honda ADV 160 possibly teased in Indonesia
KUALA LUMPUR: For a short while, PT Astra Honda Motor, the official distributor of Honda motorcycles in Indonesia has been teasing an all-new 160-cc, 4-valve scooter. It is most likely to be the new ADV 160 that will replace the existing ADV 150 from the brand’s global lineup. Honda also previewed a close-up shot of ESP+ (enhanced smart power) badging along with the “160” tag and “4 valves” tag. Most likely, the scooter will borrow the powertrain from the PCX 160 and Vario 160 (already on sale in Indonesia). That’s a 157-cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine delivering a maximum power of 15.5 hp at 8,500 rpm and a peak torque of 15 Nm. As for comparison, the Malaysia-spec ADV 150 runs on a 149-cc liquid-cooled PGM-FI engine that kicks out 14.7hp at 8500 rpm and 13.9 Nm of torque at 6500 rpm. The power is sent to the wheels via a Variable Speed transmission gearbox.
Further, the teaser video shows us the display of the LCD instrument panel telling us about the new electronic feature to be available on the 2022 Honda ADV 160. That's the Honda Selectable Torque Control system or we can say the traction control. It could have a selectable option for turning off and on, required for off-roading.
