All-new 2021 Honda X-ADV on sale in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Honda Big Bike Malaysia has finally launched the all-new 2021 X-ADV in the local market. At first glance, heavy revisions are seen clearly on the design front, however, that’s not all, as it has a lot more to offer than beauty.

Since its arrival in 2018, the X-ADV has captured the attention of riders all around the nation and also the essence of two-wheeled freedom. In its latest version, the modern adventure offers enhanced styling, improved performance, and trimming weight.

Let’s now discuss the revisions in detail, starting with the revised engine configuration. The new X-ADV is powered by the tried and tested 745-cc, liquid-cooled, two-cylinder, 4-stroke, SOHC, 8-valve mill that pumps out a maximum power of 58 hp at 6,750 rpm along with a peak torque of 69 Nm at 4,750 rpm. Showing that the power and torque figure are improved by 3 hp and 1 Nm, respectively.

Furthermore, the bike benefits from a new diamond-type frame that calls for more than 1kg weight reduction. On the transmission front is a 6-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT), which now features automatic shifting schedules. Wherein the shorter ratios of first, second, and third gears calls for smarter acceleration, while excellent mileage and relaxed high-speed cruising comes from tall fourth, fifth, and sixth gear ratios.

Also on offer is Throttle By Wire (TBW) that allows for adjustable engine character via four default riding modes, including, Standard, Rain, Sport, and Gravel. In addition, there is a customisable User mode on offer. The Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) system now features three levels of intervention.

The 2021 X-ADV features a 5-inch TFT display that comes with the new Honda Smartphone Voice Control System. This system links the rider to their smartphone and allows management of calls, music, email, and navigation via voice command. The dash and rider smartphone connect through Bluetooth and the buttons on the left switchgear can be used to manage its functions.

Moving on to the styling, in its new version the X-ADV benefits from head-turning styling. While the silhouette remains the same, each body-panel is re-chiselled, creating a stronger, sharper intent. The bike’s aggressive profile is supported by LED headlights with DRLs that automatically adjust to ambient light intensity.
