2024 Triumph Trident Triple Tribute Special Edition revealed; pays homage to brand’s racing heritage

KUALA LUMPUR: Triumph has pulled the wraps off a special edition of the Trident 660 motorcycle. Dubbed as the 2024 Triumph Trident Triple Tribute Special Edition, this exclusive edition pays tribute to the brand’s remarkable achievements with five consecutive victories at the prestigious Isle of Man TT races from 1971 to 1975.

What sets the all-new 2024 Triumph Trident Triple Tribute Special Edition apart from the standard model - 

• The bike is sprayed with a distinctive tri-colour paint scheme, combining a base white colour with metallic blue stripes and red accents
• The special edition Trident 660 also boasts the iconic "67" racing number decal on the tank, reminiscent of legendary Slippery Sam's racing identity
• In addition to its unique livery and decal, the bike exclusively comes equipped with a colour-matched fly screen, a belly pan, and Triumph Shift Assist, enhancing both style and functionality for riders

In terms of mechanical setup, the special model remains identical to the standard model. That means, it is powered by the tried and tested 660-cc, inline-triple engine tuned to deliver a maximum power of 80 bhp and a peak torque of 64 Nm. The power is sent to the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox. Two available riding modes are - Rain and Road.

The suspension setup also remains unchanged, featuring 41 mm Showa upside-down forks at the front and a preload-adjustable Showa mono shock at the rear. The braking duties are handled by twin 310 mm discs at the front and a 255 mm disc at the back, similar to the standard model. 

The continuing equipment kit comprises - 17-inch wheels wrapped with Michelin Road 5 tyres, colour TFT display, traction control, and a dual-channel anti-lock braking system.

The 2024 Triumph Trident Triple Tribute Special Edition is priced at GBP 7,895 (approximately equal to RM 47k in the United Kingdom.
