Harley-Davidson Fat Bob

The cruisers from Harley Davidson have always been about raw muscle and road presence, and the Fat Bob, despite being a new-age motorcycle, hasn’t compromised on those traditional design elements. The Harley Davidson Fat Bob gets a muscular appeal from whichever angle you look at, which makes it a striking-looking motorcycle.

At the front, the Harley Davidson Fat Bob has a modern face comprising of an all-LED headlamp encased within a rounded rectangular housing. This chunky-looking housing is finished in a gloss black paint, which makes the front fascia of the motorcycle look fancy. The headlamp comes with parallelly-arranged clamps above it, which provides support to the almost flat handlebar. The corners of the handlebar come attached with rounded amber turn indicators below the palm grips.

Move towards the side, and the Harley Davidson Fat Bob impresses you even more with its burly appeal, comprising of a wide-looking peanut-shaped fuel tank with bold graphics over it. The chunky-looking bobber-styled tyres further add more muscle to the motorcycle, with the visual appeal enhanced even more by the all-black appeal of the wheels and the engine. From the engine, two curved pipes, finished in bronze theme, emerge and flow towards the vertically-stacked exhaust pipes.

The Harley Davidson Fat Bob comes armed with a stepped-theme seat with a wide seat for the rider and a small perch for the pillion rider. The pillion seat is mounted on a massive rear fender over the rear tyre, which has a chopped design towards the rear. The sides of the rear fender come mounted with rounded tail lamps which also come integrated with turn indicators in them, while the tip of the chopped rear fender comes attached with a reflector.

The part-digital instrument console of the Harley Davidson Fat Bob is mounted on the slanted gloss-black housing over the fuel tank. This round-themed unit comes equipped with an analogue tachometer and a small LCD for digital readouts of the speedometer, fuel gauge, trip meter and odometer.

The Harley Davidson Fat Bob is one of those new-age motorcycles from the cruiser family of the American bike maker, which comes with 43mm upside-down front telescopic forks. At the rear, the Fat Bob comes equipped with a centrally-placed mono-shock. The Harley Davidson Fat Bob also comes equipped with 150/80-16 front and 180/70 B16 rear tyre and comes with a braking setup of dual 300mm discs at the front and a single 292mm disc at the rear.

The Harley Davidson Fat Bob is powered by a four-stroke, air-cooled, Milwaukee-Eight, 1868cc engine, which claims a maximum power output of 94 PS and a peak torque output of 160 Nm. As like in all the other Harley Davidson motorcycles, the Fat Bob also claims an excellent mid-range for a smooth and more than enough power delivery on tap. The engine here is paired to a 6-speed gearbox.

While the Harley Davidson Fat Bob misses out on modern-day electronic riding aids like most of the high-end new-age motorcycles, it comes with essentials like daytime running LEDs, dual-channel ABS, low oil pressure alert, engine diagnostics and a security system.

The Harley Davidson Fat Bob has an abundance of the show with a tremendous and burly visual appeal all around. Coupled with new-age elements like all-LED headlamps and part-digital meters, it is modern enough to stand with the current times, if not wholly. Apart from that, it continues to have Harley Davidson’s traditional virtues of having a torquey engine for a comfortable cruising ability.
