KUALA LUMPUR: Among the several new and upgraded bikes on display at the ongoing EICMA Motorcycle Show 2022 is the all-new 2023 Yamaha sports tourer range. It includes the updated Tracer 7, Tracer 7 GT, Niken GT, and the all-new radar-enabled Tracer 9 GT+. The latter is touted as “the most technically advanced Yamaha motorcycle ever built.”

- The upgraded trim of the Tracer 9 GT differentiates itself from the standard model with smart riding aids, which include Yamaha-first Adaptive Cruise Control. It enables the rider to automatically maintain a set distance from the vehicle moving in front
- ACC also comes with cornering assist and passing assist features. The former limits acceleration when it detects the bike is taking a bend while the latter helps in smooth acceleration at the time of overtaking
- The bike also comes with the industry-first "Unified Braking" system, which connects IMU and radar system for controlling the bike during the braking phase. It brings along advanced driving aids such as brake force distribution and collision avoidance
- Linked to the new braking setup is the electronic suspension system, which manages front and rear damping and ensures optimal ride quality. It comes with two modes - Sport and Comfort
- The Tracer 9 GT+ also boasts a new TFT screen mated to the Garmin navigation system
- Also, setting it apart from the standard GT model is a new switchgear, all-LED lighting with cornering lights, a USB port, and a redesigned aluminium framing and swingarm
- At the core of the 2023 Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ lies the same 890-cc triple-cylinder engine that powers the standard version. The engine kicks out a maximum power of 119 PS and a peak torque of 93 Nm
