2023 Yamaha Aerox(NVX) debuts with traction control system

KUALA LUMPUR: Yamaha has unveiled the latest iteration of its popular scooter, the Aerox 155 (known as NVX here in Malaysia), in India. The updated model gains new tech features, a new colour scheme, and an E20-compliant engine. It is priced at Rs 1,42,800 (approximately equal to RM 7,682). For comparison, the ongoing model retails between RM 9,598 and RM 11,498 in Malaysia.

2023 Yamaha Aerox 155 (NVX): Key highlights

• The new maxi-sports scooter comes with the first-in-segment traction control system, which not only makes it easier to ride but also adds a safety blanket
• Also added to the scooter’s safety pack is a new hazard switch
• The colour palette received an addition in the form of a silver shade, the continuing options include Racing Blue, Metallic Black, and Grey Vermillion 

• On the mechanical front, the scooter continues to have the same 155-cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder SOHC Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) engine as the predecessor. However, the said engine is now E20 fuel compliant and houses an on-board diagnostics (OBD-II) system that can read errors 
• The engine generates a maximum power of 15 PS at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 13.9 Nm. Sending power to the ground is a CVT gearbox

• The continuing feature kit comprises an LED headlight with LED positioning lamps, LED tail light, power socket, multi-function key, 14-inch alloy wheels, anti-lock braking system, and 24.5-liter under-seat storage
