2022 Suzuki Burgman 400 now on sale in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Suzuki's feature-rich compact luxury scooter, the Burgman 400 has finally made a comeback in Malaysia with lots of upgrades. The new scooter brings greater class and pleasure with better maneuverability, stylish design, practicality, and convenience. Let’s dive into the details.

2022 Suzuki Burgman 400 price

Suzuki Malaysia retails the new Burgman 400 at RM 45,999, which keeps it head-to-head against the BMW Motorrad C400GT and C400X, priced at RM 48,500 and RM 44,500. Included in the price is a two-year or 20,000 km manufacturer’s warranty.

At the core of the new Suzuki scooter lies a 400-cc liquid-cooled DOHC Euro 5 compliant single-cylinder engine, which kicks out a maximum power output of 27 hp and a peak torque of 35 Nm. The power is sent to the ground via a CVT gearbox.

When it comes to mileage, Suzuki claims the compact scooter consumes 3.3 liters per 100 kilometres or we can say that it runs 30 kilometers per litre. The scooter’s tank can store up to 13.5 litres of fuel.

Billed as a sporty scooter, the Burgman 400 features a cool and modern look with a lean, toned design and a new “Metallic Matte Sword Silver” matt finish color. On the front lies sharply styled dual LED headlights with integrated LED position lights and turn signals. 

At the back, the slim design of the scooter boasts LED rear combination lights with turn signals at their tips.

Included in the smart riding features of the Burgman 400 are - 

• Multi-function instrumentation with a digital display
• Traction Control Indicator 
• Eco-Drive Indicator to help riders learn techniques to better conserve fuel
• Freeze Indicator, which blinks when there is ice on the road

Adding to the riders comfort and utility are the following features - 

• Stepped dual seat with a 78.5 mm thick cushion
• Adjustable backrest
• 42-litre under-seat storage area, 
• Two front compartments provide 2.8 litres and 3.5 litres of space
• 12V DC outlet for charging a mobile phone or other electronic devices
• Cut-away footboards
• Rear brake lock system
• Suzuki Advanced Immobiliser System 
• Chain lock gate

As for suspension, the scooter is equipped with 41 mm diameter telescopic forks at the front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. It rides on 15-inch wheels, which are paired with twin 260 mm diameter hydraulic discs at the front, a single 210 mm disc at the rear, and two-channel ABS.
