2020 Ducati Panigale V4, Panigale V2, and Scrambler Icon Dark launched in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Ducati has finally pulled the wraps off its highly awaited 2020 model line-up for the Malaysian market. The all-new Ducati Panigale V4, Panigale V2, and Scrambler Icon Dark are the models that have now joined the already dashing Ducati and Scrambler product range. The models took center stage at a recent "Ducati Trio" event organized by the Next Bike Sdn Bhd, the country's official distributor of Ducati motorcycles.

Ducati Panigale V4

Ducati Panigale V4 is the flagship model of the Ducati supersport range, and for the last two consecutive years, the model is the world's best selling sports with a global market share of 25%. To make it more user friendly, fast, and comfortable, the Italian automaker brought in a series of refinements for the 2020 model year, which include

  • Panigale V4 and V4 S now come with an aerodynamics package taken from V4 R, which includes aerofoils, screen, nose fairing, and bigger lateral fairings with larger vents for better engine ventilation.
  • The front frame is now designed according to Ducati Corse specifications which reduced its weight and provide more flexibility.

Panigale V4 and V4 S are powered by a 1,103-cc Stradale V4 engine producing 214 hp at 13,000 rpm and 126 Nm of peak torque at 10,000 rpm. The Ducati Safety Pack now includes Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO 2 for better out-of-the-corner power control.

Other amazing features that put the Panigale V4 on top of the list are Smart EC 2.0 suspension system, Ohlins NIX-30 front fork and Ohlins TTX36 mono-shock, and Ohlins steering damper. Braking is done by Brembo with dual 320 mm discs and twin Stylema calipers on the front fork.

The Panigale V4 price starts at RM 132,900, while Panigale V4 S retails for RM 172,000.

The new fairing embraces the monocoque frame, highlighting the compactness of the twin-cylinder engine. There is a new single-sided swingarm and the new exhaust with extremely compact under-engine silencer and single-side end pipe. The traditional Ducati Red livery and black wheels further enhanced the bike's look. The customers can also opt for White Rosso livery.

Other key highlights of the Ducati Panigale V2 are:

  • DLT GPS which automatically records and saves lap times and shows them on the dashboard
  • Ducati Multimedia System that lets riders accept incoming calls, listen to music or receive text messages via Bluetooth
  • New electronics package that improved active safety and dynamic control standards including cornering function to ABS, traction control, engine brake control and wheelie control.
  • Three riding modes - Race, Sport, Street, which can be adjusted via the new 4.3" colour TFT dashboard.

2020 Panigale V2 is powered by a Superquadro twin-cylinder engine generating 115 hp at 10,750 rpm and 104 Nm of torque at 9,000 rpm. For braking duties, there is a pair of Brembo M4.32 Monobloc callipers with 320 mm discs. The suspension system incorporates a fully-adjustable Showa BPF fork and fully-adjustable Sachs monoshock at the rear.

Scrambler Icon Dark

The other model joining the list is Scrambler Icon Dark which is even more impressive than the standard Scrambler Icon. It provides customers with a clean base to customize and personalize as they want.

The bike dons in a new matt black colour and has an elemental and stylish look featuring machine-finished aluminum belt covers and interchangeable aluminum side panels. The Scrambler Icon Dark is priced at RM 49,900.
