2019 Triumph Street Twin details out
KUALA LUMPUR: If you’re into motorcycles that provide a blend of classic and modern world, then the Triumph Street Twin should be one of your favourite bikes. Launched in 2016 in Malaysia, the Street Twin has grown itself a separate fan following. Now, Triumph has announced the 2019 model which will witness a slew of upgrades over the current model available in the market. So, here’s all you need to know about the 2019 Triumph Street Twin.
The 2019 model has been given new headlight brackets with machined detailing, revised tank emblem, and new seat material. Other additions in the aesthetics department include three color choices - Matt Ironstone, Korosi Red, and Jet Black - that come as standard on this new model.
Powering the 2019 Triumph Street Twin will be the same 900 cc HT parallel-twin engine but this time around it has got more punch. The new bike will have 65 PS of max power; that is an increase of 18 percent from that of the 2018 model. Triumph has also pulled up the rev limiter by 500 revs. However, the torque produced by the engine remains unchanged at 80 Nm which kicks in at 3,800 revs. Triumph says that the improvements in the engine of the 2019 Street Twin have been possible by implementing a new lightweight crankshaft, dead shafts, balance shafts, and lighter clutch.
Triumph has also included two new riding modes. ABS and traction control will be there to assist the rider at all times. The front fork gets travel of 120mm, and the front brake is now handled by a four-pot Brembo calliper. There are two upgrade kits available for the 2019 Street Twin as accessories - Urban Ride and Cafe Custom - which allows you to put a bit of customisation on your bike.
Other changes that we get to see on the 2019 Triumph Street Twin include a USB charging socket, LED rear light, immobiliser, and Torque Assist clutch.
We’re glad that Triumph has brought about all these changes in the 2019 Street Twin. As of now, there are no details regarding the launch date of the new model in the country as well as its pricing. It’s being speculated that Triumph would put a slightly higher price tag to the new Street Twin. Currently, the 2018 Street Twin is available in the market at RM 56,900.
