You can now book the first-ever BMW X7 SUV

KUALA LUMPUR: BMW Malaysia recently posted on Facebook about X7 booking, and it even changed its page cover to a video showing the latest addition to its stable. For interested buyers, it’s a heads up to book the latest BMW SUV. The link on the said Facebook post would lead you a page where you can register your interest or book the X7.

The G07 BMW X7 sits on the modified X5 platform, and it comes with 7 Series luxury transcended into a big SUV body. In the Malaysian market, the X7 would give fierce competition to Range Rover, Mercedes-Benz GLS, and Lexus LX. Apart from Malaysia, China and North America are expected to be BMW SUVs biggest markets.

BMW X7 specs sheet tell that the SUV measures 5,151 mm in length, 2,000 mm in width, and 1,805 mm in height. Thus making it 229 mm longer and 60 mm tall when compared to the upcoming BMW X5 that was recently previewed by the company. As for the wheelbase, it measures 3,105 mm, that is 130 mm longer than the X5.

The BMW X7 is a full-size seven-seater SUV with adult seating in all three rows, besides it is for the first time the German automaker is offering an SUV with a six-seat option with two middle row individual seats. The Malaysian market, however, is expected to receive the regular three-seat bench in the middle row.

Powering the BMW X7 is a 3.0-litre inline-six turbo petrol engine that develops 340 hp of power along with a peak torque of 450 Nm at 1,500 to 5,200 rpm. The mill is paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox along with an xDrive all-wheel-drive system. On the performance front, the car can cover the 0 to 100 kmph mark in 6.1 seconds, and the top speed rests at 245 kmph. The car weights 2.3-tonne and come with every conceivable feature.
