VPCM aims for Malaysia Book of Records with the upcoming 2024 Golf Fan Fest

KUALA LUMPUR: Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) is gearing up to host the 2024 Golf Fan Fest, which could set a new Malaysia Book of Records for the largest gathering of Volkswagen Golf owners and enthusiasts. 

This event celebrates the glorious 50 years of the Volkswagen Golf, the iconic hatchback that has become a symbol of innovation and driving pleasure worldwide. 

The 2024 Golf Fan Fest will be held at Sepang International Circuit on August 24, 2024. The automaker will host several fun-filled activities to entertain and engage Golf owners and fans from across the nation. The event will feature several activities such as -

• Gymkhana Driving Challenge competition
• Golf Showdown contest
• Golf R drift taxi rides
• Exciting track sessions

Additionally, visitors can take test drives and demos for all Volkswagen models and attend tech talks and workshops covering different aspects of Golf ownership. 

The event commemorating half a century of the hatchback will also showcase the evolution of the iconic Golf model over the past five decades. This exhibit will offer a nostalgic look at the history and development of the beloved vehicle.

VPCM also organized Volkswagen’s Biggest Golf Fan contest on social media throughout the past month. At the 2024 Golf Fan Fest, the eight finalists of the said contest will compete for the grand prize and title of the country’s biggest Golf fan.

First introduced in 1974, the Volkswagen Golf has been sold in over 70 countries, with more than 37 million vehicles delivered worldwide so far. It is one of the most successful cars ever produced in the world. Currently, the hatchback is available in two versions in Malaysia - Golf R and Golf GTI, priced at RM 332,990 and RM 252,990, respectively.
