UMW Toyota sold 7.6k units in June 2024, YTD stands at 47k

KUALA LUMPUR: UMW Toyota sold a total of 7,600 cars in June, marking a decrease of approx 9.58% in comparison to the 8,422 units sold in May. As of June 2024, the automaker's year-to-date sales stand at 47,000 units, which also reflects a dip of 3.4% over the 48,659 units sold in the first six months of 2023.

The reason for the dip can be attributed to the market slowdown as Total industry volume (TIV) for June is expected to be the lowest of the year.

Despite receiving lower numbers, UMW Toyota remains positive and grateful to Malaysian consumers. While expressing his gratitude, Datuk Ravindran K., President of UMWT said, "We are grateful for the trust our customers have given us, which is reflected in our sales this month. This trust strengthens our commitment to society and aligns with our vision to Move Your World."

Moving forward, the Japanese automaker has rolled out the July 2024 promo named "Peace of Mind with Every Drive”, which offers up to 100% financing on the brand’s selected models. The buyers can save up to RM 7,500 on the purchase of the new Yaris, with monthly instalments starting from as low as RM 688. Further, the Toyota Service Savers program offers monthly instalments starting from as low as RM 31.

Speaking of UMW Toyota community engagement programs, the company hosted the Toyota Showroom Weekender from July 13 to July 14 2024 across the nation. Four models were featured during the event viz. Yaris, Vios, Corolla Cross, and Hilux to offer potential buyers an opportunity to explore and engage with these popular vehicles.

The company will continue to host the Toyota Showroom Weekender in the upcoming months as well. During the event, the automaker will display its latest models and offer test drives and exclusive savings. At the Topmark outlets, attendees may also get a complimentary gift when they take a test drive and explore trade-in and pre-owned car options.
