UMW Toyota launches new accessories for the Veloz MPV

KUALA LUMPUR: UMW Toyota launched the Veloz last year in October as a replacement for the Avanza. Built on the Daihatsu New Global Architecture, the MPV has a more upmarket appearance compared to its mechanically identical twin, the Perodua Alza. Well, it is now available with a new style-up body kit that further spices up its looks.

The new Toyota Veloz body kit is an optional package that is priced at RM 3,300. The pack comprises the following accessories -  

Front bumper spoiler: It offers a bolder and more aggressive look to the MPV and amplifies its road presence

Rear bumper spoiler: This provides a more refined and streamlined rear look to the MPV

Side door claddings: Also part of the kit are side door claddings, which not only protect the vehicle's doors but also enhance its aesthetics.

Roof spoiler: It adds a visually dynamic effect by elevating the car's sleek and stylish appearance as well as improves aerodynamics 

Customers can also opt for a Front and Rear Digital Video Recorder by paying an additional cost of RM 380. This dual-camera system can record video footage from both the front and rear of the vehicle that can be conveniently accessed and monitored via the Toyota DVR App.

That’s all about the optional accessories. As a quick recap, UMW Toyota offers the Veloz in a single variant in Malaysia, priced at RM 95,000 (on-the-road, without insurance) without a body kit and dashcam. It runs on a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated inline-four petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 106 PS at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 138 Nm at 4,200 rpm. Sending power to the front wheels is a CVT gearbox.

Standard equipment kit comprises - LED headlamps, LED DRLs, full-width LED tail light bar, 17-inch wheels, seven-inch instrument cluster, three drive modes (Power, Eco, and Normal), wireless phone charger, single-zone automatic air-conditioning system, 9.0-inch infotainment unit, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, electric parking brake, semi-leather upholstery, ambient lighting, and advanced driver-assistance features.
