Toyota Recalled Five Prominent Models For Faulty Switches
Kuala Lampur: UMW Toyota (UMWT)- issued a notice on a “Special Service Campaign” and announced a recall on a total of 66, 830 vehicles in Malaysia over an issue with a faulty power-window switch. The global recall was first made public by Toyota Motor Corporation earlier this month. As per the reports it’s the largest single recall since year 1996. When Ford had withdrawn 8 million vehicles to replace defective ignition switches.

The vehicles who have been victim of such issue of recall comprise of models: Yaris, Toyota Vios, Corolla Altis, Camry and RAV4 which where manufactured between September 2005 to December 2010. “In the interest of ensuring customers” confidence and peace of mind, UMW Toyota Motor is presently taking the requisite steps in order to rectify the issue in which it will contact all affected customers to carry out the needful corrective action.

It is informed that the vehicle which carries a faulty power-window master switch, then the issue will be resolved by the application of specialized grease. However, where the master switch display would indicate malfunction, then the whole switch board will be replaced absolutely free.
