Testing over for Porsche Macan EV, time to reveal it to the world in Singapore on Jan 25

Porsche is gearing up for a big reveal with the all-new, all-electric Macan. This isn't just a facelift; it's a complete overhaul, marking a new chapter for the successful SUV.

Where and when will the reveal be? The all-electric Porsche Macan is set to make a grand entrance on Thursday, 25 January 2024. And guess where? Just across the bridge In the vibrant city of Singapore! This is going to be a world premiere that a lot of Porsche EV fans have been waiting for. 

Think of it as the Macan reimagined, now juiced up with electric power. Porsche engineers have been putting this baby through some intense tests to make sure it's ready for its big debut. It's the first model to ride on Porsche's shiny new Premium Platform Electric (PPE), so they're making sure everything, from the motor to the cup holders, works perfectly.

The testing phase for this new Macan is super thorough. It's not just about how it drives but also its efficiency and design. Porsche is big on real-world testing, which means taking these camouflaged prototypes out and about, alongside simulations and wind tunnel tests. This is crucial for balancing sportiness with efficiency.

Underneath that stylish exterior, Porsche is working some serious aerodynamic magic. They're talking active aerodynamic elements like an auto-extending rear spoiler and cooling flaps, plus some clever underbody stuff to slice through the air with ease. This new Macan is set to be one of the most aerodynamic SUVs out there, which is great news for range and efficiency.

Speaking of range, the electric Macan's got a hefty lithium-ion battery in its belly, offering more than 500 km of range. And with its 800-volt architecture, this SUV is all about fast charging. You can juice it up from 10 to 80 percent in under 22 minutes at 400-volt charging stations.

Porsche's also making sure this electric Macan feels like a Porsche to drive. They're testing it in all kinds of extreme conditions, from the freezing cold of Scandinavia to the scorching heat of Death Valley. It's all about ensuring that wherever you take it, the Macan performs as expected.

With a rear-focused all-wheel drive and some fancy Porsche tech like overboost power and Porsche Traction Management, this electric SUV promises to be quite the performer. It's got air suspension, rear-axle steering, and a whole lot more to make sure it lives up to the Macan's reputation for high performance and comfort.

Speaking of Porsche Macan, the facelift version of the SUV was launched in Malaysia on January 6, 2022. This update brought in three variants of the SUV, including the base Macan, Macan S, and Macan GTS, each featuring unique design and performance enhancements. This facelift followed the first one unveiled back in 2019​​.

The Porsche Macan facelift introduced several key updates. Visually, it featured redesigned bumpers, new slim center inlets, and black C-shaped corner fins at the front. It also saw enhancements in lighting with Porsche Dynamic Light System headlamps becoming standard.

The interior received a modernized center console with touch-sensitive controls, a new gear lever design, and updated infotainment systems. Mechanically, the engines were revised for better performance, and Porsche Active Suspension Management dampers were standardized across all variants for improved handling and responsiveness.
