Subaru Forester GT Wild Lite coming to Malaysia; ROI open

KUALA LUMPUR: Subaru Malaysia has started registering interest for an all-new edition of the Forester SUV, called the Forester GT Wild Lite edition. The upcoming version is characterised by its rugged aesthetics, designed to appeal to adventure seekers and outdoor enthusiasts.

The Forester GT Wild Lite edition distinguishes itself from other variants with notable highlights, including 

• Subaru "Hill Decal" on the side profile of the vehicle, featuring a mountain range
• Anti-glare sticker on the bonnet, reducing glare from the sun or other bright light sources, to improve visibility for the driver

Additionally, the package contains bespoke 2-tone alloy wheels equipped with Yokohama Geolandar all-terrain tyres. Overall, the new bodywork enhances the SUV's off-road capabilities, giving it a more adventurous appearance.

The rest of the specifications are identical to those of the 2.0i-S variants in the SUV lineup. That means, we can find a 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated flat-four petrol engine under the bonnet, which is tuned to deliver a maximum power of 156 PS and a peak torque of 196 Nm. It comes mated to a Lineartronic CVT and Symmetrical All-wheel Drive system ensuring superior grip and control on any terrain.

Based on the Subaru Global Platform, the SUV comes equipped with an X-mode, which is a specialised system designed to provide better control and traction in challenging driving conditions. The equipment kit also includes Subaru Intelligent Drive, which lets the driver choose different driving modes to match their preferences and the road conditions.

The upcoming Forester GT Wild Lite edition will also have the EyeSight 4.0, comprising several advanced-driver assistance gears like adaptive cruise control, pre-collision braking, autonomous emergency steering, lane centering, and lane departure prevention.

The all-new Subaru Forester GT Wild Lite edition is expected to hit Malaysian showrooms within the next few months.
