Spied: Facelifted Honda CR-Z
Kuala Lumpur: Some spy shots of the facelifted Honda CR-Z have leaked in China and is currently making rounds throughout the web. Previously, this sport hybrid coupe had made a debut in 2010 and received a facelift in 2012 with a new lithium-ion battery, S+ boost button along with reworked aesthetics. This facelifted version is speculated to be launched in 2016 before the all-new Honda CR-Z arrives in 2018.
Going by the pictures, this prototype has got a new front facade as compared to its predecessor. The facelift includes a traditional honeycomb grille with no top edges present. A flat lower lip is replaced by a bulging out chin that flows through the fog lamps on both the sides. Apart from that, new headlights and new bumpers can also be noticed. Towards the side profile, it has been designed with new side sills while the rear end features a new bumper. However, the taillamps have retained the same old shape.
Apart from the exterior, the interior of this car has also been reworked upon to give it a futuristic look. Towards the main console, a new screen can be noticed for the infotainment system and an armrest with storage box in the place of a manual handbrake. Other changes include chrome door handles, a new gear knob for the manual gearbox and the most striking feature being an electronic parking brake behind the gear lever. A new trim material can also be expected for this facelift. Talking about the engine, no change is expected so the output would remain 123 hp along with a torque of 167 Nm.
