What’s on offer?
Stunning exterior finish
The Ghost Black Badge model despite its name can be opted in any of the 44,000 hues offered in the Rolls-Royce palette or any custom colour the customer demands. However, as expected, black is the most popular choice.
An interesting fact about this particular Rolls-Royce Black is that it is regarded as the ‘motor car industry’s darkest black’ and consists of 45 kg of paint. It is to be noted, that the colour is atomised and applied on an electrostatically charged body before being oven-dried on the car. In the case of the Ghost Black Badge, it gets two layers of clear coat which is then being hand-polished by four craftsmen for RR’s signature high-gloss piano finish.
The entire princess takes up to five hours with the end product being a finish that is “simply unattainable elsewhere in the automotive industry”.
The intense black finish is best complemented by the high-contrast hand-painted Coachline giving the car a ‘black and neon’ aesthetic.
Also part of the kit is a unique dark finish on the Spirit of Ecstasy ornament and Pantheon Grille, a set of bespoke 21-inch wheels (with 44 layers of carbon fibre and a lightly tinted lacquer)
Mesmerizing cabin
Like the exterior, the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost’s interior is equally unique and awe-striking. It gets handmade bespoke trim pieces, handmade from Bolivar veneer, layered with ‘technical fibre’, resin-coated carbon, and metal-coated threads laid in a diamond pattern.
The air vents are darkened thanks to a physical vapour deposition process. However, the most noteworthy of all is the illuminated black badge infinity symbol on the dash, surrounded by 850 stars only visible at night.
Similar to the exterior, the interior can also be picked in any colour combination of choice, however, RR says that customers tend to stick with the darker motif with brighter hues.
Mechanical tweaks
The Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge is not just about aesthetic updates but comes with a number of mechanical upgrades as well that ensures an even more engaging drive. For instance, tweaked air suspension for reduced body roll while cornering, more powerful engine (29 hp and 50 Nm more power & torque over the regular model), and gear shift lever with new Low Mode button (leads to 50% quicker shifts on the 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox).
Price
The Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge treatment is available in both standard and long-wheelbase versions and commission at GBP 249,500 (approx. RM 1.4 million).
