Renault Megane R.S. Trophy: Key Highlights
KUALA LUMPUR: Renault Malaysia launched the facelifted Megane RS only a few days back, it’s been called the RS 300 Trophy. The revisions are not just limited to the car’s modern design but go further to its enhanced performance and improved equipment list.
The all-new Megane RS 300 Trophy facelift is priced at RM 326,476, on-the-road without insurance, SST exemption applied. Included in the price kit is a three-year/100,000 km warranty. Before we move forward with its key highlights that will amaze you for sure, we’d like to inform you that one can even have it via the company’s subscription programme. One-year subscription would cost RM 7,200 monthly and two-year goes for RM 6,200 per month. The three-year programme takes the rate further down to RM 5,200 a month. The subscription prices include insurance, road tax, and scheduled servicing.

Sporty design
The new Megane R.S. Trophy features an aggressive and sporty design theme that’s hard to miss. Its sleek lines, exclusive carbon grey trim, wider wings, sophisticated fittings, and exclusive range of hues are appealing and tallies with the liking of today’s consumer.
However, it’s not all forms, but functions as well. For instance, the side extractor vents with exclusive Renault badging look stylish but also optimizes performance dynamics by reducing underbody aerodynamic pressure. Then there is the functional diffuser that’s derived from Formula 1. The rear diffuser maintains stability at high speeds and even prevents rear-end lift, it also channels airflow and enhances downforce.
The facelifted Megane R.S. Trophy runs on the new 19-inch JEREZ Diamond-cut wheel design with distinctive red inserts. Other inclusions include - full-LED setup, revised DRLs, new rear LED light signature.
Exterior colour options: new Flame Red, signature Liquid Yellow, Diamond Black, Orange Tonic, and Pearl White. Note, the yellow and orange shades would cost you an additional RM 9,000.
Smart cabin
The facelifted Megane R.S. Trophy features high-performance sporty fittings and materials that deliver an unparalleled driving experience. Also, the carbon grey interior with red trims creates a power-packed environment. Overall, like the exterior, the interior flaunts a sporty identity thanks to its high-end material, sophisticated finishes, distinctive details, and exclusive R.S. upholstery.
Also part of the kit is a new EASY LINK seven-inch touchscreen information system that provides simple access to multimedia function. For the driver, there is a seven-inch customizable instrumental cluster providing a connected and intuitive experience.
Also, the aluminium pedals make a stylish statement for sure. Furthermore, the fiery red detailing and new multi-sense ambient lighting come as a perfect addition.
Renault Megane R.S. Trophy technology
The new Megane R.S. Trophy is turned with some of the most amazing technologies that help it perform better on every front. Some of the inclusions being -
4CONTROL four-wheel steer system - It’s the world’s first-in-segment technology by Renault Sport. It provides amazing agility through tight turns and great cornering stability at high speeds.
Innovative front suspension - This independent steering-axis front suspension is equipped to limit torque steer.
Hydraulic compression stops - All four shock absorbers on the Megane R.S Trophy are fitted with hydraulic compression stops leading to improved comfort, better impact absorption, and enhanced performance on any terrain.
R.S. Vision Full LED headlights - The latest Renault is turned with high-performance lighting with chequered flag-shaped lower headlights.
Torsen Limited Slip Differential - This one combines calibrated torque transfer and instant mechanical action to optimise grip when powering or accelerating through corners.
Launch control - This function can be activated in Race or Sport mode. The turbo and clutch are preloaded, enabling an optimal standing start
Renault Megane R.S. Trophy performance
The facelifted model is powered by a 1.8-litre four-pot turbocharged mill that delivers a maximum power output of 300 PS (20 PS more than the previous-gen model) and a peak torque of 420 Nm (30 Nm more).
Renault Megane R.S. Trophy safety
Few interesting safety bits included in Megane R.S. Trophy are six airbags (driver & passenger adaptive, lateral chest-level side for driver and front passenger, and front and rear curtain head). While the anti-lock braking system keeps control of the trajectory, the Brembo brakes and material rotors in iron and aluminium cast. The later setup improves cooling and reduces weight at each wheel.
