Proton X70 to benefit from N95 cabin filters
KUALA LUMPUR: As per Proton Malaysia’s official website, the X70 SUV will soon get updated with the new N95 cabin filters. These filters will offer better air filtration than the current pollen and dust filter fitted in the SUV.
Geely, in February, announced the development of the G-Clean Intelligent Air Purification System (IAPS) - a system that automatically filters out harmful particles. So, it looks like Proton is following its Chinses counterpart footsteps.
Brushing your memory a bit, the Geely’s IAPS system gets an active carbon chemical filter that absorbs harmful particles/gases as it enters the car. It also filters out harmful pollutants and foul odor.
There is also a negative-ion generator that deodorises and sterilises the in-car air. Besides, it also helps get rid of the airborne viruses, mold, fungi, and bacteria. Geely claims that the IAPS system provides the same level of air filtration as an N95 respiration system. The company has introduced the system in Jiaji MPV.
The N95 cabin filter will be a standard option on the new Proton X70. However, it is most likely to be offered as a retrofit item for both locally-assembled (CKD) and fully-imported (CBU) models.
Exact details and pricing of the N95 cabin filter will be announced soon. So stay tuned.
