Proton X70 SUV to be used by KPDN for enforcement activities
KUALA LUMPUR: Proton Malaysia has handed over not one or two but 28 units of the X70 SUV to the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN). The popular model will be used for enforcement activities by the department.

The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) will use the 28 units of the X70 for enforcement activities.The handover ceremony was held earlier this week via Spanco with the ceremony held in Putrajaya, the administrative capital. Present at the ceremony was Proton’s deputy director of UCM and corporate sales, Wan Ahmad Fadzil along with the automaker’s head of corporate sales, Fazil Hisham.
The carmaker also announced a vehicle briefing programme that was held prior to the ceremony. And it has also been revealed that the SUV will be distributed to all states by the KPDN secretary-general from where the car will be delivered to chief state enforcement officers.
This is not the first time the Proton X70 has been handed over to a ministry to perform a duty, as prior to this a fleet of the SUV was offered to the ministry of health in Sabah in Dec 2020. For? A little about Proton X70
The Proton X70’s last revision came in June 2022 wherein it received a new engine, a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol mill making a maximum power of 177 PS at 5,500 rpm along with a peak torque of 255 Nm from 1,500 to 4,000 rpm. The drive is sent to the wheels via a 7-speed wet-dual-clutch gearbox.
The new model also gets - a new wheel design, black cabin headlining, and gloss black exterior trims.
