Proton to launch the facelifted version of Saga and Exora in near future
KUALA LUMPUR: Proton has confirmed that it will launch the updated versions of Saga and Exora MPV soon. Prior to this, some spy shots of Proton Saga facelift were revealed from which it is depicted that the model gets Proton's new design language. However, as for now, the national carmaker has not revealed anything else about these models.
Speaking about the models, Proton Saga is a popular car from the brand and shared a major portion in the last month sales figure. It was launched three years ago, and now it's high time for the car enthusiasts in the country to see its facelifted version. From what is known, the model features a new 'Infinite Weave' grille along with new front and rear bumper designs. Apart from the exterior, under the bonnet, the car too has received some improvements. However, the 1.3-litre VVT engine remains unchanged.
Another model, Exora was introduced back in 2011, and since then it is the third time the car is getting an update even though its replacement has already earmarked for production. In 2017, an enhanced version of this seven-seater MPV was launched. This version is offered in two variants - Executive and Executive Plus and is powered by the 1.6-litre CamPro Turbo engine. The facelifted Proton Exora is expected to get similar changes to those made to Proton Saga facelift in terms of exterior. Besides, it also gets a raft of measures to reduce noise, vibration, and harshness.
The Exora facelift is also expected to receive a new head unit. It is a new seven-inch touchscreen system, which was introduced on the new Persona and 2019 Iriz a few days back. The system is based on the Geely's Global Key User Interface (GKUI) unit and comes with a 4G internet connection. The system allows online music streaming, live traffic updates, and the "Hi Proton" voice command system.
