Peugeot Malaysia launches new 3008 & 5008 CKD models

KUALA LUMPUR: Good news buyers! As the sole distributor of Peugeot cars in Malaysia, Bermaz Auto Alliance Sdn Bhd, has officially launched the all-new 2021 3008 and 5008 SUVs in the country.

Let us now check out the full details of the new Peugeot 3008 and 5008 SUVs. Yes, we can discuss the two cars together as they share a nearly identical specs sheet with the only difference seen in the seating arrangement.

New Peugeot 3008 & 5008 production

First and foremost, the updated Peugeot Malaysia SUVs are locally assembled CKD units. They are being assembled at the company’s recently acquired NAZA manufacturing facility located at Gurun, Kedah.

As mentioned above, the two cars mainly differ on the seating configuration. While the 3008 easily seats five passengers, the 5008 is good for larger groups (seven seats).

The updated SUVs showcases a revised exterior with inclusions like - new frameless grille that seamlessly merges into the new bumper, thus portraying a very modern look. The new LED headlights add to the aggressive quotient of the cars. On the sides, we see new massive 18-inch wheels. At the rear is a new set of tail lights with the brand’s iconic 3D-effect claw signature lights with new scrolling indicator lights.

The new SUVs feature a stunning and welcoming cabin with Peugeot digital i-Cockpit setup that includes -

• New 10-inch HD touchscreen
• Iconic piano-styled toggle switches mounted in the middle
• Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity

New Peugeot 3008 & 5008 powertrain configuration

Powering the new 3008 and 5008 is the tried and tested 1.6-litre Twin Scroll Turbo High-Pressure unit that pumps out a maximum power of 165 hp along with a peak torque of 240 Nm. The power is sent to the wheels via a quick-shifting 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The performance kit also includes - a Drive Mode Selector and paddle shifters.

The common set of exterior colour options include - Nera Black, Amazonite Grey, and Pearl White. Model exclusive colour options are available as well, for instance, Cuprite Brown for 3008 and Emerald Crystal for 5008.

Peugeot Malaysia is offering the new 2021 Peugeot 3008 and 5008 in a single variant option - 1.6L Allure. Their prices are as follows -

• New Peugeot 3008 1.6L Allure - RM 161,616.66
• New Peugeot 5008 1.6L Allure - RM 177,311.90
