Perodua delivers over 100,000 units of 3rd generation Myvi since launch

KUALA LUMPUR: The 3rd generation of the ever popular Perodua Myvi hatchback was launched back in November 2017. Today the company has reached a milestone of delivering 100,000 units of the 3rd generation Myvi. This translates to an average of 1,560 unit per week. This achievement brings the total sales of the Myvi to around 1.1 million.

The Myvi is the most successful model ever by Perodua. It was initially launched in 2005 when the market was predominantly sedan based. Fast forward to 2013, and the Myvi had overtaken the record-breaking sales of the Kancil, which sold 708,000 units from 1994-2009. Currently, the orders for the 3rd generation Myvi stand at 150,000 and Perodua has promised to fulfil them quickly. Managing director of Perodua Malaysia sales, Zahari Husin said that the company follows the ‘People First’ philosophy and the grand success of the Myvi keeps them motivated to deliver better products. He also thanked all the Malaysians for welcoming the Myvi into their homes.

In the previous year, Perodua delivered 227,243 vehicles and stood on the top pedestal of the local automotive sales for 13 straight years. Ever since Perodua's inception in 1994, the automaker has sold nearly 3.5 million cars with Kancil being its first model.  And for 2019, Perodua is aiming to sell 231,000 units.
