Perodua Axia set for exports from second half of 2015
Kuala Lumpur: The stable car of Malaysia, Perodua Axia will be set for exports from the second half of the current year. On the grand occassion of Perodua Myvi's 10th anniversary, the company made this announcement to the media but this did not specify the countries to which this A-segment drive will be exported. Right now, Perodua overall exports its products in six countries, all in the ASEAN segment which include Indonesia, Mauritius, Singapore, Fiji, Sri Lanka and Nepal, so it is highly likely that these will be the countries which will enjoy benefits of this A-segment car. However entering into Indonesia will not really make any commercial sense and is highly unlikely because Axia is based on Daihatsu Alya will is already on sale in Indonesia.
Having claimed that Axia is manufactured and developed meeting the global stardards, Perodua says that Axia meets KPIs of the car in terms of quality, most of them, if not all and that makes the car ready for exports. Axia is currently being manufactured at the new Perodua Global Manufacturing plant, which is highly functional, tech-savvy and has a reputation for low rates of defect.
Perodua also added that this is just a build up phase, the company will begin exports more aggressively from 2017.
