Perodua Alza takes home Malaysia Good Design Award 2022
KUALA LUMPUR: Perodua has received the prestigious Malaysia Good Design Award 2022 from the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry (MITI) for the all-new Alza. The event ceremony was organised by the ministry’s design agency, Malaysian Design Council (MRM) yesterday and was officiated by MITI secretary-general Datuk Seri Isham Ishak.

If we talk about the design of the MPV, it has an easily likable design with an X-themed front fascia housing a vanity grille with chrome detailing and striking LED headlights. Further accentuating the exterior look are L-shaped tail lights, a roof spoiler, and two-tone alloy wheels.
The interior boasts a newly designed horizontal and layered dashboard architecture with a two-tone colour treatment. It is loaded with several creature comforts like flexible seating arrangements, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, electronic parking brake, semi-leather upholstery, Perodua Smart Drive Assist.
Powering the new Alza ia 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine, which delivers a maximum power of 106 PS at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 138 Nm at 4,200 rpm. The power is sent to the front wheels via a D-CVT.
Pricing for the seven-seater model starts at RM 62,500 (on the road without insurance) and goes all the way up to RM 75,500.
Along with the 2022 Malaysia Good Design Awards, the event also included the presentation of Certified Industrial Designer (CIDe) certifications.
